AMERICAN rockers Wheatus are now coming to Bridgwater on Friday, November 10 after being forced to postpone their show at The Palace Nightclub.

The New Yorkers were scheduled to perform in the town on Tuesday, October 3 – but they had to push the show back due to singer Brendan B. Brown falling ill.

In a statement published on October 1, the band said: “After an incredible time in Hull last night, Brendan woke up feeling very unwell this morning, and as a result we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone tonight's show in Leicester and Tuesday's show in Bridgwater to give him time to rest and feel better.

“We are working on rescheduling both of these shows to keep them part of this tour - so please hold on to your tickets and stay tuned for more information on all that as soon as we have it.

“Apologies and thanks for your understanding. We will rock extra hard for you very, very soon.”

Two days later, Wheatus confirmed Brown's health had improved, but they chose to postpone two additional shows in Cardiff and Portsmouth “out of an abundance of caution”.

Their statement added: “In far brighter news, we have newly rescheduled dates for all four postponed shows – including an upgraded venue for our sold out show in Cardiff, meaning tickets are back on sale!

“All previously purchased tickets will be honoured, but refunds will be available at point of purchase if you’re unable to make the new dates.”

The Cobblestones pub, which is arranging the gig in partnership with The Palace, said there are some tickets remaining, and all previously purchased tickets will remain valid unless they have been refunded.

Ticketholders will gain free entry to the Palace's club night after the show.

Wheatus last performed in Bridgwater in May 2019 during their previous UK tour.
