BRIDGWATER 2nds maintained their 100% home record with a six wicket victory on Saturday.

In a game shortened to 38 overs, Bridgwater bowled the visitors out cheaply thanks to three wickets apiece for Ed and Matt Habberfield.

Then Tom Clarke (49) and Ben Whitemore (30 not) saw Bridgwater to victory in just 20 overs.

With rain in the air, Andrew Roberts (2-25) claimed two early wickets. Singleton (2-38) was proving expensive, but picked up two wickets in two overs as Weston slumped to 50-4.

The introduction of Ed Habberfield’s medium-pace then dried the runs up, as he took 3-13 in a miserly nine over spell.

Skipper Matt Habberfield brought himself into the attack and spun through the tail to finish with 3-9 off 5.1 overs, as Weston were all out for 126, three overs short of their revised allocation.

Bridgwater soon lost Pople in their chase but Kitch and Clarke found the boundary with ease in a whirlwind partnership of 44 until Kitch fell for a rapid 27.

Whitemore’ good form continued and scored freely in his innings of 30 not out.

At the other end Clarke was demolishing the spinners as he hit four maximums, but was dismissed one short of a deserved half century.

Bridgwater then lost Coombes, but Robert (8 not) and Whitemore saw their side home with six wickets and 19 overs to spare.
