A MAGNIFICENT century from Chris Gange in only his third league match for the club set up a hat-trick of league wins for Bridgwater.

Frocester chose to bat first at Pounds Close but found it very hard going against the lively Ian Bishop and Chris Skidmore who kept a very tight rein on the prolific Nick Trainor and former Gloucester player Jackson Thompson, until Skidmore snared the latter with the help of wicket keeper Stu Standerwick.

This brought in Kevin Smith who led a charmed life, which included a regulation slip chance while somehow managing to reach 48 to give the home side some impetus.

Despite the excellence of Bridgwater's opening attack only one wicket fell and it wasn't until Scott Clapp joined the attack that wickets started to fall aided by a superb running catch over his shoulder by Ed Habberfield to dismiss the cautious Trainer.

Clapp took four important wickets with only Ashleigh Davies (48) batting with any confidence. A few lusty blows saw the home side close on 200 off their allocation, a good recovery from the half way stage.

Andy Hallaran fell quickly after playing a trade mark flick to the backward square leg boundary but Chris Gange set out his stall for the afternoon with a mixture of great caution and controlled aggression.

Tom Furley bowled a fine spell beating both gange and Mitch Windsor on several occasions but the pair grew into their work putting on 105 before the unfortunate Windsor smashed a full toss to the longest part of the boundary to be held by Davies.

The confident Stu Butt joined Gange and the pair closed out the game as the latter upped his scoring rate after reaching his 50.

A series of aggressive shots, with his second six taking him to his century saw Gange to 104 not out and Butt 19 not out as Bridgwater kept up their excellent early season form.
