Bridgwater Jupiter captain Baylea Charles has targeted a top three finish in the Jupiter claimed a resounding win against Yeovil side Newton as they ran away to a 56-22 victory.

Jupiter started the match steadily and began to read Newton’s game, ending the first quarter 12-5 ahead.

During the second quarter Newton’s shooters capitalised on every opportunity but great communication in defence meant that goalkeeper Lisa Durant and wing defence Hazel Hucker could make some timely interceptions in and around the circle edge as Jupiter maintained their seven goal lead at 22-15 at half time.

The third quarter proved to be the most successful period for the home side as Jupiter were all communicating and working as a unit.

Wing attack and player of the match Sammie Woolacott made some excellent interceptions to put Newton out of their stride in the centre third.

Jupiter worked hard to keep the lead with goal shooter Paige Davey shooting accurately to ensure Bridgwater kept their foot firmly on the gas until the final whistle.

Jupiter captain Baylea Charles said she was delighted with the way the team performed and laid the gauntlet down for the remainder of the season.

She said: “It was a great effort from the girls, I saw fantastic man marking and we put them under a lot of pressure.

“We have a tough run of matches coming up now so we just need to keep training hard and working on our set plays – I think we can finish third in the table.”
