GOLFER David Dixon's 2012 European Tour campaign started disappointingly with a missed cut in the Johannesburg Open in South Africa.
Dixon posted two rounds of 71 over the two courses at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.
The event suffered from frequent thunderstorms and Dixon didn't complete his rain delayed second round until Saturday morning and he couldn't manage to find the required birdies over the last few holes to survive.
His one-under par total for the 36 holes left him three shots outside the qualifying mark for the final two rounds as many low scores were recorded.
With a lengthy break now ahead of him until his next start on the European circuit Dixon said he intends to practice hard to ensure his game is in top shape for his next opportunity.
