EUROPEAN Tour Professional and Enmore golfer David Dixon heads to South Africa to open his 2012 schedule at the Johannesburg Open this week.

The 34-year-old tees off on Thursday at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club hoping to maintain the superb form which saw him claim first place at the European Tour Qualifying School in December.

Despite securing the leading card on offer in that event, Dixon is likely to find starts on the Tour restricted for him in the next couple of months as it visits the Middle East.

Success in South Africa will give Dixon an early season boost in the lucrative Race to Dubai standings.
