Bridgwater Town Ladies rocketed to the top of the table with this comfortable win over Swiss Valley Rangers.
Bridgwater started brightly and went ahead in the fourth minute when Mandy Gornicki found Anneka Russ with a through ball, who hit the ball into the far corner after drawing out the goalkeeper.
The visitors rarely threatened but it took Bridgwater until the 37th minute to increase their lead through Ross’ second goal of the game.
Russ then turned provider for Bridgwater’s third after her left wing cross was turned into the net by a Swiss Valley Rangers defender.
Bridgwater pressed in the second half and Mandy Gornicki hit their fourth in the 55th minute with a driving shot.
Substitute Emily Morris turned in Gornicki’s right wing cross on 73 minutes and Chelsea Pitt latched onto Gemma Baker’s ball in the final minute to round the goal keeper and slip the ball into an empty net.
Bridgwater Town Ladies face Frome Town Reserves on Saturday at 2pm.
