BRIDGWATER Netball Club fielded an under-19 side for the first time in the regional tournament at Taunton Vale.

The side, with four under-16 players, did well against more experienced sides, drawing against Pinehurst from Dorset and beating Lawn from Wiltshire, while losing their remaining games.

Under-16 squad: Naomi Irish, Paige Davey, Katy Cheese, Beckie Cowley, Chelsea Edwards, Rosie Hill, Rachel Onions, Emily Rowland, Julie McClean (scorer), Amy Shaw (coach).

At the first full Somerset junior tournament of the season, Bridgwater had three teams at U-12 and U-13, one in the U-14 and one at U-16.

The U-16s lost against Galmington 2 after injury reduced them to six for a period.

The U-14s won their four games and the U-13s and U-12s all enjoyed some success.
