LAST week the Bridgwater Town and District Skittles League crowned the John Bishops Champions Cup winners for 2023/24.
In the final between Hazlenuts and Zulus, it was the Division One side Hazlenuts who came out on top after a great match.
A spokesperson said: "Congratulations to Hazlenuts of Division 1 who were crowned John Bishops Champions Cup winners 2023/24.
They defeated Division 2 winners Zulus by 7 at the Cobblestones in the final.
It was a close fought game with Zulus starting well hitting 70 pulling 11 pins but Hazlenuts plugged away winning the next 5 hands only losing the final hand winning by 7.
Last month, Kalon Parsons of Alley R U Ok won the Whitbread Cup in the Bridgwater Town and District Skittles League.
And more recently, in the Hooper Cup Singles competition, James Facey of Zaks Boys took home the trophy.
The league would like to thank all the support in competitions this year also thanks to the sponsors.
