Somerset Three (South): Bridgwater & Albion Second XV 17-24 Crewkerne
BRIDGWATER & Albion Second XV hosted Crewkerne on a very hot Saturday afternoon at College Way.
The first half of the match was very tightly contested but after half an hour Crewkerne went over in the corner to make it 0-5, which is how it remained at the interval.
From the kick off for the second half Cam Modley made a great run involving Lewis Shepherd that resulted in Modley go over to level the scores.
Crewkerne then came back strongly with a converted try to take a 5-12 lead.
Sam Russell and Joe Bussell then made a strong run up the middle of the field to put Jake Roberts over in the corner to score, his first try for Bridgwater to make it 10-12.
Crewkerne then scored a converted try followed by another that was not converted .
Towards the end of the game Albion’s James Forrester broke through the middle to score under the posts, which Callum Gillard converted to make the final score 17-24.
