Counties 3 Tribute Somerset South: Wellington II 24- 28 Bridgwater and Albion II

BRIDGWATER and Albion Seconds notched up another great win, this time away from home at Wellington where despite being reduced to 12 players at one stage  they hung onto claim the spoils.

This was a really hard fought encounter from start to finish and once again it was Shaun Mahoney who opened the scoring with a try that Ollie Philips converted.

Bridgwater were very much in the ascendancy in the first half with further tries for Mahoney, James Brakes and Danny Mahoney all of which Phillips added the extras to, which made the score 28-12.

After the break however Wellington came back strongly against the visitors who suffered a number of injuries and after using all of their replacements had a player yellow carded.

Despite all this the Bridgwater team defended fiercely and managed to repel the countless attack from a Wellington side who were parked in the visitors half for much of the time.

This was a real team performance from the Bridgwater lads who fought strongly throughout- as they have done all season.

The final league match for Bridgwater II is away against top of the table Huish Tigers on Saturday, March 25.
