RAIN has wiped out countless sporting fixtures across Somerset since Christmas, with seemingly endless downpours leading to fixture backlogs across the leagues.
Despite more rainfall over the weekend, touring side Empty Brains, from Braintree RFC, were not to be denied on a recent trip to Somerset.
They took on a Sedgemoor XV made up of players from across the region's clubs in a game of impromptu sevens at a soaked Morganians RFC, ensuring that their long trip west was not a wasted one.
