TWO students who are studying the Football Coaching in Community Settings course at Bridgwater & Taunton College have secured coaching contracts with Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust on completion of their course.

Lewis Winter and Harry Barnes, are currently completing the final year of their course, which is run in partnership with Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust.

They will be able to put in to practice what they have learnt on their course, which includes units such as Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Injuries and Analysing Performance, as well as gaining nationally recognised FA football coaching qualifications.

Yeovil Town Community Trust manager Sara Bradley, said “Through our excellent partnership with Bridgwater & Taunton College, we are starting to produce competent coaches who are ready to assist in the delivery of high quality programmes within our community.

"Both Lewis and Harry have been extremely dedicated to the Trust by volunteering at a number of our programmes over the last two years, so I was pleased to be able to reward them by offering them positions at the Trust.”

On reflection of his new role, Harry Barnes, said, “Having been involved with the Community Trust since the age of nine, it’s a real honour to start my coaching career with them.

"I have learnt a lot which has helped me with my studies and coach development.”

Lewis Winter, added, “I’m very proud to be given such a fantastic opportunity with the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust; I know I will progress and develop within the team.

"I am looking forward to getting started.”
