Regional League Three
Jupiter 52 - 37 Nationwide
BRIDGWATER Jupiter signed off the season with a comfortable victory over Nationwide on Sunday – and in doing so, sealed a second-place finish in regional League Three.
Nationwide came out strong and took the lead, but Jupiter managed to quickly step up and ended the first quarter four goals ahead.
Some changes to the Jupiter squad enabled them to have fresh legs and they pressurised Nationwide into making mistakes, capitalising off of turn over balls, with outstanding shooting from Paige Davey (GS) taking them to a nine-goal lead at half-time.
Jupiter continued to play well and fed off of the great sideline support, ensuring that they still led going into the last quarter.
Super defensive work from Lisa Durant (GK) and Beckie Cowley (GD) meant that Jupiter were able to turn over more game play and further the score gap between the two teams.
A strong quarter from the team’s original starting seven carried Jupiter to the end, winning the game 52-37 and giving them a second place finishing after finishing fifth last season.
Player of the match was Beckie Cowley.
Jupiter remains unbeaten at home this season and have worked tirelessly to progress through the table.
They would like to thank their team manager Chris Cowley, all of the team’s supporters during this year and Falcon for providing their transport for away fixtures. Sponsor: Mrs Chris Shaw.
