HOMES in Sedgemoor’s successful ‘GOALs’ initiative returned again this year, providing free football coaching sessions to children in Woolavington last week.
The housing organisation once again paired up with Yeovil Town FC to provide the free sessions, which included activities such as, technique training, competitions, crossbar challenge, lightning, agility races and penalty shoot-outs, as well as small-sided matches.
A total of 32 children aged between six and 14 took part in the activities, and at the end of the second day everyone who took part was awarded a certificate and a medal for all their hard work.
Four children were awarded an extra special achievement award for their contribution to the sessions and their outstanding skills.
Those four children will now have the chance to win a match day experience at Yeovil Town FC courtesy of Homes in Sedgemoor.
Homes in Sedgemoor chief executive Dawn Lang said: “It was great to see so many children taking part and doing so well over the course of the two days.
“The GOALs initiative is always popular and our thanks go to Yeovil Town FC for their support in bringing the programme to Woolavington.”
