Morganians 41 - Bridgwater and Albion 3's 11

MORGANIANS capped another fine team display with an impressive win over their local league rivals.

The team didn't need any extra motivation for this match, but knowing that a bonus point win plus results going their way, they could move to 2nd in the table. Morgs started the game on the front foot with early drives from Craig Weber and Matthew Neale being denied just short of the line.

It was Bridgwater who took the lead though with a penalty just inside the Morganians half.

Morgs stuck to their game plan and carried on dominating in the forwards, Geoff Thompson broke away and powered over the line to score the first points, with Will Hopkins converting.

Hopkins then scored his first try of the game after a good break in midfield by Ryan Rossiter.

Bridgwater added another three points.

Matthew Neale finally got on the score board after picking the ball up from the back of a ruck and smashing through two defenders to score out wide. Bridgwater did put up a little fight and scored in the corner five minutes before half time, bringing the score to 19-11 at the break. The second half was all Morgs after they scored a further four tries - with Hopkins scoring his second in the corner after a great drive by the forward pack, putting Bridgwater under immense pressure.

Dave Harris scored a well worked try after some good hands gave him space to drive over the line and add a further five points.

Andy Nyron added the third of the half after a loose ball dropped to him, finishing neatly with a few defenders around him.

James Fox scored the final try with a great solo effort, stepping the fly half and beating the full back to score under the posts. This topped off a fantastic team display with the result never in any doubt. Morganians face Burnham next week, 2pm kick-off.
