Woman hits car nearly four times over drink-drive limit
A BRIDGWATER woman could face prison after she crashed her car while nearly four times over the drink drive limit.
Sedgemoor Magistrates’ Court heard Samantha Louise Parker, 26, hit another car, in Church Street, and then try to restart her engine - without success.
Prosecuting, Sarah Rhodes said two neighbours witnessed the incident and police were called out at around midnight, on November 27. Officers saw Parker stumble out of her car and say: “Did you see him run off?” She then had to be restrained.
Parker, of Eastover, admitted driving while over the legal drink drive limit - with 138mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
In mitigation, Nigel Yeo said Parker had alcohol and mental health issues and her previous convictions were three or five years ago, for a public order offence.
The case will be heard at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on December 30. Parker has been released on conditional bail but banned from driving in the interim.
