Mum's plea for safe crossing after son hit by car in Bridgwater
1:00pm Wednesday 4th July 2012 in Bridgwater Area News
Daryl
THE MOTHER of an 11-year-old boy hit by a car in Bridgwater is calling for a crossing to prevent further accidents.
Marie Vanstone, 46, from Kidsbury Road, told the Mercury she was setting up a petition after her son, Daryl Clarke, was knocked off his bike in Kendale Road on Sunday afternoon.
She said: “His friends came over shouting he’d been hit by a car. He’d been crossing the road from Victoria Park.
“The gentleman who hit him was only doing 25mph so Daryl’s injuries were not critical. The man couldn’t apologise enough and was very upset.”
Daryl, who was admitted to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, is now recovering from a head injury and internal bruising at home.
Police attended the scene and no arrests were made.

I've heard about Darly, apparently him and his mates "fish" in the Docks, apparently he's one of the worst when it comes to shouting and swearing, especially shouting abuse at people who live in the area and just want to have some peace and quiet!

Road safety should be taught in schools with videos showing what can happen if you aren't careful.
I can't see the point of "pedestrian" crossings to help kids because they don't use them anyway they'll just cycle or run across the road where they want not where the crossing is!
