FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man at Bridgwater's East Quay after he got himself stuck waist deep in mud.
The specialist rescue team from Bridgwater Fire Station attended the scene just before 10pm Sunday evening, along with police and ambulance personnel.
Two firefighters donned their specialist dry suits and placed a ladder across the mud in order to reach the casualty.
They secured the man with a rescue harness and managed to haul him from the mud uninjured, where he was handed over to the care of police and paramedics.
