A BRIDGWATER entertainer played an impressive 20 Bridgwater pubs in 12 hours to raise money for charity and raised more than £5,000.

Bridgwater's Jordan Hill took on the marathon set of gigs on July 22 and at one point had 115 people follow him from the Bunch of Grapes to the Lime Kiln Inn.

Jordan helped raise the money for St Margaret's Hospice, which helped look after two of his grandparents last year.

Jordan said: "The care my nans received last year was incredible and I wanted to give something back.

"They loved watching me perform so what better way to show my family's appreciation than by putting on a show with all donations going to St Margaret's Hospice."

Jordan kept people up to date with his marathon performance by live streaming on Facebook.

Terena Young, St Margaret's Hospice fundraising officer for Sedgemoor, said: "I have never seen anything like this before and I know how hard Jordan worked with the support from his family and friends to put this show on.

"I'd like to thank everyone involved in the Gigathon and to everyone who made donations to St Margaret's Hospicem which totalled an incredible £5,075."

St Margaret's needs £7.5m voluntary contributions each year just to keep the doors open, 1 in 3 people living in Somerset will need the support from St Margaret's at some stage in their lives. If you would like to raise funds for this local charity please call Terena on 01823 346954.
