A BRIDGWATER based housing association have pledged to make a large number of improvements to their homes over the next year.

Homes in Sedgemoor, who manage 4,200 homes on behalf of Sedgemoor District Council, have created a Capital Programme to make necessary positive changes for their properties.

The improvements include bathroom and kitchen refurbishments, new front doors, rewiring, gas central heating installation and creating chimneys and shed roofs.

The homes receiving the capital Programme cover Bridgwater, North Petherton, Wedmore, Mark, Knoll, Burnham, Highbridge and Taunton.

Some of the Bridgwater streets involved in the scheme are Bristol Road, Taunton Road, Rhode Lane, Gloucester Road and Hamp Brook Way.

Paul Barry, assistant director property, said: "Our capital programme continues to invest in homes for the future.

"This year;s programme follows on from our £25million investment over the previous four years in relation to Decent Homes, and is all about continuing ti improve homes for our customers."

Duncan McGinty, leader of Sedgemoor District Council, said: "We are delighted to see the progress being made to raise standards of homes across Sedgemoor."
