TENANTS in Sedgemoor have given their seal of approval to seven local projects this month.
Members of Sedgemoor Tenants Voice and Making a Difference Group selected who should benefit from Homes in Sedgemoor’s Making a Difference Fund.
Dawn Lang, chief executive of Homes in Sedgemoor, said: “The Making a Difference Fund gives tenants control of decisions on which local community projects should have access to funding they really need.”
The projects included a play scheme in Hamp, Sydenham Netball Club and support to Sedgemoor Community Partnership, which helps deliver local learning programmes.
It also offered support to a communal garden in Cheddar, a community cinema project and Digital Link, which will help local people access the internet.
The fund, together with Sedgemoor District Council, has also helped fund a Citizens Advice Bureau post, which helps people at risk of losing their homes.
The fund is open to community groups as well as Homes in Sedgemoor tenants.
