THE Fire Service has warned of the dangers of overheating hay bales following the floods.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is warning people to check hay stacks and hay in barns for any rise in temperature, signs of smoke or smell of burning.
Where farms or properties are not occupied due to flood damage, arrange for regular visits to check.
The Service encourages the safe disposal of hay following advice from waste disposal contractors and not burning.
