YOUNG dancers have been busy rehearsing today (October 30) for two separate children’s parades taking place during carnival events on Saturday, November 3.

Carnival president Pete Bastin welcomed more than 140 children from eight schools who will be taking part in the parades at 1pm and 3pm on carnival day.

The schools were Robert Blake Science College, Chilton Trinity Technological College, St John and St Francis School, Kingsmoor Primary School, Puriton Primary School, Somerset Bridge Primary School, Westover Green Community School and Hamp Junior School.

The parades have been sponsored by the Arts Council of England and Energy Solutions – Hinkley Point A power station, and choreographed by Robert Blake Science College’s Claire Taylor.

There are a host of other events happening throughout the day and the main carnival procession starts at 7pm.
