MANY volunteers and organisations put in plenty of work to ensure a sparkling night’s entertainment during Taunton Carnival.
Committee chairman Marilyn House said: “This year has seen a big challenge in sorting out all the issues of a new assembly point away from the comfort of a large car park.
“The police, county highways and borough council have been helpful in getting the show on the road.
“Alongside that are all the clubs and individuals who spend many hours to bring the spectacle to life on the night. I’d like to thank all of them and all the volunteers."
The Performing Rights Society has helped keep costs down by waiving a large part of the copyright fees for musical entertainment.
Mrs House added: “We’ve had sponsorship and support from lots of local companies over the years for many of our activities – without them, none of this would happen.”
