MP Ben Bradshaw met up with Labour councillors
THE MP for Exeter visited Bridgwater to discuss how the proposed nuclear power station at Hinkley Point will affect the community.
Ben Bradshaw MP was invited by Sedgemoor Labour Group members to the town to discuss with staff and politicians the need for the community to benefit from the massive project.
Labour District and Town Councillor for Dunwear ward, Leigh Redman, explained issues in a letter to the former minister, who has special responsibilities for the South West Region, and called for his support.
Mr Bradshaw said: “This is clearly a regional issue and I am happy to pursue the case for community benefit and also to table relevant questions in the House.
“I'm glad to see a cross-party position on this and all sides standing up for Local Government.”
