EAST Bridgwater Community School’s year 11 evening of achievement was a tremendous night, featuring singing, drama, art and more, writes media student Scott Kilday.

If you didn’t come you really did miss out on a terrific evening.

Colourfully dressed dancers executed some brilliant moves to two fist-pumping tunes – Jessie J’s Laserlight and Hairspray’s You Can’t Stop the Beat.

I expect it took many rehearsals to perfect it to that standard; everybody was so impressed.

Heads could be seen bobbing in the audience and some even joined in on the dancing!

The singers were amazing. A select few students performed heart warming ballads, some of which they had themselves written.

Students also displayed a great gift for playing instruments such as piano and even electric guitar!”

There were also plays and musicals, including a truly astounding few scenes from the critically acclaimed musical Blood Brothers.

The acting of every student was wellrehearsed and convincing.

A few pieces also had the audience in stitches with their comedy routine.

The performance of students was really impressive; it’s like something that you could have seen at the West End or even on Broadway!

The show was followed by an afterparty, featuring a stylish art exhibition, and delicious refreshments supplied by food technology students.

At the end of the evening, staff and parents were full of praise for the evening.

It was an amazing show; all the hard work and effort of each student and members of staff had been put to excellent use.
