Sedgemoor District Council's development control commitee yesterday granted permission to build parks in Summerway Drove, an area near Westonzoyland Road, and on the Royal Ordnance Factory site in Puriton.
Around 20,000 solar panels will be built on the 26-acre Summerway Drove site, while up to 75,000 could be built on ton the 38-acre site near Westonzoyland Road.
The Puriton site could have up to 25,000 solar panels over its 31 acres.
