A Wellington woman whose car burst into flames while she was driving was told about the terrifying ordeal months beforehand.

Rosalyn Gibbs, of Rockwell Green, was travelling along the A39 near Bridgwater yesterday morning (Wed-nesday) when the blaze broke out in the engine.

She pulled into a layby and got out of the car before another motorist stopped to call the fire brigade who arrived minutes later and put the blaze out.

Eerily, Rosalyn, who works at Musgrove Park Hospital, visited a clairvoyant in January who told her she would be involved in a fire but would escape unharmed.

Rosalyn, 46, told the County Gazette: “It’s incredible; I didn’t believe in this stuff before but all her predictions have now come true.

“She also told me I would meet up with an old flame and my life would start to come together and that’s exactly what has happened.”

Rosalyn has been left distraught by the fire which has destroyed her car as she was depending on it to move from her home in Wellington to Essex this weekend.

She added: “I feel sick about it – I was terrified when the flames started coming out of the engine but I’m relieved I got out in time.”

After being left stranded by the side of the road with no money, mobile phone or transport, kind-hearted photographer Jeff Searle, who works for the County Gazette’s sister paper The Bridgwater Mercury, drove her back home.

Rosalyn said: “Jeff was an absolute superstar; I don’t know what I would have done without him.”
