ASHCOTT Primary School children have received copies of the book Northern Lights thanks to the generosity of one father.
Gary Manning, whose children attend the school, had received 40 copies of Philip Pullman's book as part of World Book Night.
He then gave them to children in Years Five and Six at the school.
Head teacher Richard Briar said: “The children were delighted to receive the free books and immediately began reading and sharing the story.”
Altogether, 1,000, 000 books were given away across the country during World Book Night.
