THE Bridgwater Education Trust was officially launched at Chilton Trinity Technology School by Sir John Jones this month.
The town's six schools - Chilton Trinity Technology College, Haygrove School, East Bridgwater School, Robert Blake Science College, Elmwood special school and Penrose special school - brought together teaching and non teaching staff in an inspirational professional development event.
The trust, which works to raise aspiration and educational standards across Bridgwater's secondary and special schools, invited Sir John Jones to share some of the key influences that have served to bring him success in his own high-powered career.
Teachers from all the Bridgwater Schools came together to hear him give an inspirational and motivational talk on The Magic-Weaving Business.
Chairman of the trust, Cllr Anne Fraser, said: “I was delighted that this opportunity had been created to help so many of those connected with education to come together and benefit from hearing a leading national speaker talk of his experiences in engaging with young people.”
