THREE young women have impressed music judges in the national singing competition Open Mic UK.

Chloe Wintersgill, Lottie Culliford and Kirstie Taylor from Street and Walton met at school and started their band 3 Image two years ago.

The band, who cover The Saturday's, Katy Perry, Chris Brown and more, swanned through the audition stage in Brighton last month and are now preparing for the regional finals on October 30.

Kirstie said: “We were shocked, it was amazing. We will be practicing lots for the next stage.”

If they get through the regionals, they could find themselves singing at the national grand final at the O2 in London, where the winner will be offered a recording contract and up to £30,000 investment.

Kirstie added: “We would get to record our own album. That would be amazing. Although we do covers now, we want to write our own music.”
