STUDENTS from Taunton took part in a procession through the town to celebrate their graduation.

More than 300 students and staff from Somerset College took part in two processions today after formal ceremonies at the Temple Methodist Church on Upper High Street.

The processions took place at 12pm and 3.30pm with students marching through the High Street, along Hammett Street and finishing at the back of the Perkin Warbeck.

They then took part in the tradition hat throwing at St Mary Magdalene Church.

Principal Rachel Davies said: “We all really enjoy celebrating the success of our graduates, of whom we are so very proud. “Somerset College is at the heart of Taunton, so it is appropriate that the town shares in this wonderful celebration with us. “We look forward to a good turnout along the route as well as meeting many of the students’ friends and families.”
