A MIRACLE man who survived an 80ft cliff fall at Kilve beach is now relying on his remaining eight-and-a-half lives to keep him out of danger.

Self-confessed adrenalin junkie Matt Vorley insists he won’t stop doing things “for a buzz” despite amazingly surviving the horrific plunge – as reported in the County Gazette last week.

Mobile phone salesman Matt, 20, who used to live in Minehead before a move to Bridgwater, escaped with just a four-inch gash on his head after the ground crumbled beneath him while he was “messing about” with mates on the cliff top on Tuesday.

His pals looked on in horror as Matt plummeted about 80ft, cracking his head on rocks on his way down, before landing in a heap at the bottom.

Matt, who remained conscious throughout his ordeal, told the County Gazette: “It all happened so quickly.

“I remember being terrified when I landed – I knew I wasn’t dead but I thought I must be paralysed, it was so frightening.

“I shouted out to my best friend Rich and they all came rushing down and stayed with me until the air ambulance arrived.”

Matt was taken to Musgrove Hospital in Taunton by RAF helicopter and released later that night.

His mum, Catherine, of North Petherton, said: “I really feared the worst when Matt’s friends rang to say he had been in an accident.

“The doctors later told me he had only a 20% chance of surviving an 80ft fall – it’s a complete miracle he is still with us.”

Matt said he was amazed when he told his twin brother Andrew what happened . . . because he found it funny!

He added: “I think he was just covering it up because he was scared!

“I am a bit of a thrill-seeker but this experience won’t change me – I still have eight-and-a-half of my nine lives left.”
