A FISH and chip shop fire in Dulverton this morning was accidental and caused by a fryer.
Fire crews went to Fore Street at about 9.30am and after making sure no one was still inside, put the fire out and ventilated the building.
The shop was badly damaged by smoke and also by the fire.
A spokesman for the Fire Service confirmed the blaze was accidental and started in a fryer.
The British Red Cross, and Fire Emergency Support Service were mobilised to the incident.
