ANOTHER terrified bus driver has told the Mercury how his vehicle was attacked in Bridgwater.

Last week driver Nick Keitch told how his bus was shot at as he travelled along Rhode Lane, causing a terrifying bang which left smashed glass everywhere.

Now another man, Graham Allen, has revealed he was also targeted and he claims a colleague suffered a similar fate, both on the same night as Mr Keitch.

Mr Allen, a driver for First for more than three years, said he turned his bus into Taunton Road at 6pm and saw a car full of youths approaching.

He described how one of the youths clambered through the window, sat on the frame and launched a missile at the coach.

Mr Allen said: “It was raining so I’m not sure what it was, I’m not sure if it was a gun or what, but the damage was just like a bullet hole.

“It didn’t penetrate through, but it broke the inner glass which went all over me. I just couldn’t drive it after that.”

Mr Allen said the incident left him feeling anxious about getting behind the wheel again.

He said: “I felt like I couldn’t drive it and haven’t sat in that seat since the accident. I have to go back because it’s my job, but I’m really not looking forward to it.”

Mr Allen also told the Mercury a colleague at First had an object thrown at his coach, smashing a window, as he drove down Wills Road just before 5.30pm.

Police have confirmed the incidents are all under investigation.
