Gadsby has announced that it is now a Certified B Corporation.

In its 160th year, the Bridgwater firm has been recognised as a business committed to balancing profit with an equal emphasis on people and the planet.

B Corps are part of a global community dedicated to utilising business as a potent force for good.

Now standing among more than 8000 companies in over 96 countries, Gadsby has undergone a rigorous examination process to achieve B Corporation certification.

This evaluation measures the business's continuing impact on its workers, community, customers, governance, and the environment.

Gadsby scored an impressive 93.4 from B Lab, a score considerably higher than the minimum requirement of 80.

Managing director, Will Gadsby, said: "As Gadsby grows so does our responsibility to lead as a force for good.

"We have been in the industry for 160 years and have grown from a retail store to a global manufacturing and sourcing company.

"We wouldn’t have received this certification without the hard work of our team.

"Everyone throughout our supply chain has worked incredibly hard to reach this goal."

He further added: "This B Corp Certification helps to move us forward, honouring our mission to create fantastic products for a range of brands and industries; and cementing our commitment to environmental sustainability.

"We’re excited to be joining a network of like-minded organisations, certification is only the beginning for us."

Gadsby plans to keep stride with escalating standards for social and environmental performance.

To maintain its certification, the company is required to undergo the assessment and verification process every three years to demonstrate they still meet B Lab's high standards.
