A PERSON has been rescued by emergency services after ending up in the canal in Bridgwater.
On Sunday, April 21, both ambulance and fire services rushed to Hamp Bridge at around 3pm.
Multiple ambulance vehicles were in attendance, along with a fire engine, as crews used specialist equipment to pull the individual from the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 21 to Hamp Bridge in Bridgwater to a person in the water.
"The individual was rescued using roof ladders and water rescue lines and was left in the care of the ambulance service."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) added: "We were called at 15:03hrs on Sunday, April 21 to an incident in Bridgwater.
"The resources we sent to the scene included a double-crewed land ambulance, rapid response vehicle and an operations officer."
