A NINE-year-old boy from a village near Bridgwater has started his own dog walking business after his dad asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up.

Bradley Gould-Davies, from Cannington, is now the proud founder of Bradley’s Buddies.

The young entrepreneur was inspired to start his own business after his Dad, Matt, asked him what he wanted to do in adult life.

Initially, Bradley stated he wanted to become a YouTuber, but later in the day, Matt noticed him writing down business ideas, which included dog walker, dog groomer, 'dog haircutter', and vet.Bridgwater Mercury: Bradley was overjoyed when his dad agreed to help him start a dog walking business.Bradley was overjoyed when his dad agreed to help him start a dog walking business. Bradley's Dad agreed to help him start a business walking dogs, and even went as far to pay for liability insurance.

“If it makes anything out of then it does – if it doesn’t it doesn’t," Matt said.

“I'm just hoping to instil some sort of work ethic in him - I’m just trying to teach him if you make money, put a bit aside and use a little for sweets.

Matt said a walk from Bradley's Buddies lasts around an hour and costs £7; £5 of which goes into Bradley's savings, and £2 into his pocket money.

He hopes the business venture will help to fill him and his son's time together on the weekend, and make sure Bradley is 'not always on the computer'.

When asked what he liked most about dogs, nine-year-old Bradley said: “That they’re always happy to see you, and they’re fluffy.”Bridgwater Mercury: An hour long walk from Bradley's Buddies costs just £7.An hour long walk from Bradley's Buddies costs just £7. (Image: Bradley's Buddies)

Dad Matt added that Bradley would love to one day meet a Shiba Inu.

It's clear creativity and drive runs in the family, as Bradley is soon set to receive his own coat embroidered with the company logo which was designed by his ten-year-old cousin, Tyran, from Burnham-on-Sea.

Those interested in utilising Bradley's Buddies' services can enquire by messaging the Bradley's Buddies Facebook page - and make sure to follow the business on TikTok to keep up to date with Bradley's business journey.

@bradleysbuddies This is my first walk with Max the Chihuahua. He was very good company and really enjoyed his walk today. Question: Where do Chihuahuas get their name from? Dad Matt accompanies Bradley on all walks and ensures he only takes control of the small to medium sized dogs that are well trained on a lead.

Bigger dogs can still be catered and will be handled by Matt to ensure Bradley's safety.

Bradley wears a Bone Activated Hearing Aid (BAHA) after finding out last year that he is completely deaf in one ear - his trademark red headband helps him to hear what’s going on whilst walking dogs, and being out and about.
