A UNIQUE and popular band with roots in both English and Irish traditions are set for a gig near Bridgwater this November as part of their UK tour.

Flook are known for their trademark sound which mixes traditional tunes with acoustic grooves, and is brought together by the group's adventurous imagination and skill.

A spokesperson said: "There is certainly no shortage of virtuosity amongst the members of Flook, but the unique impact of this band stems from the wholly intuitive, almost symbiotic, exchange between the various flutes, frets and skins."

Despite stunning live audiences for over 28 years, Flook are showing no signs of slowing down - their most recent album Ancora was nominated for BBC Folk Album of the Year in 2019.

Band members Brian Finnegan, Sarah Allen, Ed Boyd, and John Joe Kelly work in unison to create a distinctive ensemble of clever music.

Just some of the instruments played by Flook include whistles, flutes, the accordion, the guitar, and the bodhrán - a traditional type of Irish frame drum.

The band will take to the stage at The David Hall in South Petherton at 7:30pm on Saturday November 18.

Tickets cost £21 and can be purchased from the box office by phoning 01460 240340.
