THREE new tennis courts have been built at a popular tennis club in Bridgwater.
The new courts at Bridgwater Lawn Tennis Club have replaced the old astro courts.
They are said to be a better standard with up-to-date technology compared to the previous courts.
Carole Beach, club chair at Bridgwater Lawn Tennis Club, described the new astro-turf courts as "excellent to play on and very easy on the joints".
The four week renovation project began on July 31, and saw a complete transformation of the area, which also had new floodlights installed two years ago.
Funding for the new courts was provided mainly through grant applications by the club, with the Hinkley Point Community Fund and Valencia Communities Fund contributing over half of the total cost.
To commemorate the opening of the new courts, a tournament will be held at Bridgwater Lawn Tennis Club for all to enter on Saturday September 9 from 12:15pm.
Entries cost £3, with tea and cake available for all in attendance, as well as music.
To enter into the tournament, get in touch by September 6 at the following email address: bob.kippen@hotmail.co.uk
