WEMBDON Parish Council have launched a Scoop the Poop campaign to help tackle the amount of dog foul in the village.
The campaign was launched in the spring after residents and council members noticed that dog mess was a huge problem on pavements, footpaths and playing fields.
Students from St George's School also joined in with the campaign by taking part in a competition to design a Scoop the Poop poster, which was judged by the parish council.
Bella Howard won first prize, followed by Evie Macriner in second and Angel Filian-Vorley in third.
Posting on Facebook on July 1, a spokesperson from Wembdon Parklands & Community Together said: "Unfortunately yet another instance of dog fouling in the Parklands.
"Just to remind everyone that Wembdon Parish Council are currently involved in an ongoing initiative to tackle this.
"Somerset Council are also involved by continuing warden patrols to catch perpetrators and issuing fines where appropriate.
"SCOOP THE POOP."
