A CAT that went missing last year has inspired a series of illustrated children's books.
In 2022, Charlie, a loveable ginger family cat, went missing.
Ronnie Godliman, Charlie's owner, said: "Friends, family, and the local community all rallied around and each day we would find lots of people out looking for Charlie, but despite widespread poster publicity and social media output there was not one proper sighting.
"Then exactly four weeks to the day of his disappearance, and the very day that college closed for the summer holidays, news came that a rather scrawny ginger cat had been seen scavenging for titbits around the Bridgwater College workshops canteen.
"Imagine our great joy and celebration when we found that it was indeed Charlie, albeit, a much thinner and very hungry cat. As we had owned Charlie since he and his sadly departed twin brother Chester were kittens, we knew that he was a resilient and adventurous cat, but his sojourn around the locality had seemingly made him much more wary of everything.
"We decided that sharing Charlie's story might be of interest to others, so as a family, including the children, we have written and published a series of five beautifully hand illustrated picture story books, particularly aimed at primary school aged children."
Ronnie wrote each book. Ronnie's daughter and granddaughters, Natalie, Talisha, Aleah and Olivia France, did the illustration.
The books' description on Amazon reads: "The Adventures of Charlie are a series of five beautifully hand illustrated picture story books for children.
"Each book shares more of Charlie's and his friends' amazing adventures, as they view everyday life events from a cat's perspective.
"Colourful pictures and funny stories help younger children to improve their reading abilities. Book five, the final part of Charlies story, tells of his struggle to survive after becoming lost, then his joy at being found again."
The books, which were released under the pseudonym of Godders, were published by the American company Lulu. They can be purchased from them directly online at Lulu Online Bookstore, however Amazon also stock and sell them, as do Barnes & Noble and Blackwells Books.
