WOMEN'S rugby at Bridgwater & Albion has been one of the success stories of the 2022-23 season during which the First XV have competed in the England Rugby Women’s National Challenge 2 competition, writes Richard Walsh.

The club has a growing squad of 25 players, and are always looking for more women who are either looking for a new team or just want to give rugby a go!

Recently, the women’s team travelled to Devizes RFC, where at the end of a thrilling match they earned a 19-19 draw! The Bridgwater & Albion tries came from Sophie Phillips (2) and Stephanie Beck, with two conversions from Rosie Evans.

This weekend, the Bridgwater & Albion Women face Chew Valley Cats, after which there are three further league games remaining
