Pupils at Hamp Community Junior School enjoyed taking part in an assessment session run by coaches from the Avenue Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday, March 12.
Talent scouts put children from years three, four and five through a number of routines to show off their talents.
Following the session, 16 pupils have been invited to attend a Sift Day at the tennis club in Burnham on Saturday, March 29.
Six to 12 children from the area could be helped financially with tennis coaching and equipment through the Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy.
The Academy was established following the death of rising tennis star and Bridgwater College student Nathan Edwards, who died in a road accident last November.
