AN ESTEEMED Bridgwater carer was presented with the Bridgwater Cup at the Mayor's Parlour in recognition for her kindness and hard work.
Eileen Haysham was nominated by one of her client's family members, who felt she needed to be recognised for her work as a community carer.
Workmates told the Star that during her 42 years with Somerset Care, Eileen brightened up the lives of her clients with her friendly face.
Colleagues were so pleased for Eileen that they threw her a surprise party last month (February).
Mandy Curran from Somerset Care said: "We would just like to say how proud we are of Eileen, and we would like to thank her for all her hard work and commitment to our company."
Bridgwater Town Council awards the silver cup annually for significant contribution to the town and it's citizens.
The winner receives a replica as a memento as the original cup, donated by Colin Watkins in the 1970s, is usually on display at Blake Museum.
