BRIDGWATER'S brand new M&S Food Hall will open its doors for the first time today (Wednesday, June 20).

The new store on the Gallagher Retail Park will be officially opened at 10am by inspirational Bridgwater youngster Tayen Gilbert and store manager Andy Harris.

Tayen has a genetic condition called neurofibromatosis type one. The condition is incurable and causes tumours to grow on nerves anywhere in her body.

Tumours have grown on Tayen’s optic nerves which have extended into her brain and despite chemotherapy, she has been left completely blind and epileptic.

But despite this Tayen is always seen with an infectious smile on her face.

Store manager Andy Harris and his 55-strong team will celebrate the opening with a ribbon cut and a chance for you to check out the store for the first time.

The M&S will include the store's Click & Collect service, which means online customers will be able to have M&S.com Clothing & Home orders delivered to the store the next day, free of charge.

Store manager Andy, who is celebrating his tenth year with M&S, said: “We’re incredibly excited to announce our opening date and can’t wait to become part of the Bridgwater community.

"Our hard-working colleagues will be on hand to make every moment special for our customers – whether they’re picking up a bouquet of flowers for a loved one, or a lunchtime treat from the M&S Food on the Move range.

The store will be located at Unit C2, Gallagher Retail Park, The Clink, Bridgwater, TA6 4AB. It will be open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
