POLICE are continuing to hunt for a man suspected of carrying a gun in Bridgwater.
Here's what we know so far:
- Police were called to Thorncombe Crescent, Sydenham, at 7.30pm on Saturday night (June 16).
- They received reports a man had been seen with what was believed to be a firearm.
- Armed police attended the scene and searched a number of addresses in an attempt to locate the individual.
- A police helicopter has also been involved in the search.
- Police were also spotted in Parkway, Rhode Lane, Haygrove Road, Bath Road, St John Street, Gloucester Road and Taunton Road.
Speaking on Sunday evening, a spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the suspect was still at large.
"We are still actively searching for the man and residents may see armed police in the area while we continue our ongoing investigation," he said.
"We would appeal to anyone with any information to call 101 and quote reference 5218/132641."
