POLICE continue to hunt for a man suspected of carrying a gun in Bridgwater.
Police were called to Thorncombe Crescent in Sydenham at 7.30pm on Saturday night (June 16) following reports of a man seen with what was believed to be a firearm.
Armed police attended the scene and searched a number of addresses in an attempt to locate the individual.
A police helicopter has also been involved in the search.
Police have been spotted along Parkway, Rhode Lane, Haygrove Road, Bath Road, St John Street, Gloucester Road and Taunton Road during the course of the investigation.
Speaking at 6pm yesterday evening (Sunday, June 17), a spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the suspect was still at large.
"We are still actively searching for the man and residents may see armed police in the area while we continue our ongoing investigation," the spokesman said.
"We would appeal to anyone with any information to call 101 and quote reference 5218/132641."
