NEARLY 200 jobseekers attended a free recruitment fair at Burnham-on-Sea's Princess Theatre.
Held on Tuesday, 24 employers advertised nearly 1,000 opportunities on the day with 10 job seekers being interviewed and four people offered jobs on the spot.
More than 150 application forms or expressions of interest were received for the available jobs with interviews being organised for this week or next.
Sedgemoor District Council organised a range of local employers and organisations to showcase jobs on offer for local people, as well as apprenticeships, self-employment advice, training and volunteering opportunities.
Bridgwater and Taunton College and Somerset Skills and Learning were also available to discuss how jobseekers could enhance their skills for future employment opportunities or discuss apprenticeships and traineeships.
A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said: "We would like to thank all of the organisations, training providers, jobseekers and employers who attended and helped to make the event such a huge success along with the staff and volunteers at The Princess Theatre."
